Web11 Feb 2012 · Taillight condensation is a problem, but it's also pretty common among manufacturers, I'd guess. Of the eight cars I've owned, four have had taillight/headlight dirt or condensation issues. The only dealer who balked was a GM dealer - I had to get the manufacturer involved to resolve that. Not just condensation, but a good 15mm deep puddle in the tail/brake compartment, and condensation elsewhere. SERIOUSLY UNIMPRESSED. have had to drill a wee hole in the side of the assembly to let the water out. This is the 21st century FFS, Kia, you need to get your feckin act together.

Web16 Mar 2024 · As the title say I have condensation in my drivers side tail light. I took the car to the dealership in late December and was told this is normal and that it would go away on its own. I was also told that I could have the tail light replaced but I would have to pay for parts and labor. Well, 3 months later and it has never went away. Web27 Apr 2024 · A light misting is normal (which clears itself), it’s when water builds up that’s not right and, being as you are out of warranty, you don’t really have anything to lose trying to add a small weep hole. Most car owners will choose to use a waterproof caulking … Web14 Nov 2024 · The best thing you could do if you are annoyed, is take the unit off, bring it in the house, warm it up, dry it off with a blow dryer directed into the light sockets (Obviously remove the bulbs first) and then put some silicone around the bulb openings or an o-ring before putting the bulbs back in.

I asked if the CPO warranty will take care of that. He said the taillights are by design not completely sealed so condensation is norm. Definitely get it in there for replacement as the condensation can wreak havoc on the reflective materials. Those of us out of warranty had to take to drilling vents in the bottom to get it to go away. I got a new Toyota part for mine and it fogged too. For now I’m living with it, but will likely drill a small hole or two at the bottom.
